BANTWAL: Police have found the body of Anni Poojary (55) in his house at Neerkaje in Kepu village of Bantwal taluk under Vittla police station limits on Monday. The police said that the he was killed a few days ago. The incident came to light when people informed the victim's son Harish about foul smell emanating from the house. Harish informed the police. Harsha P.S., Assistant Superintendent of Police, Puttur sub-division, told The Hindu here on Tuesday that the body was decomposed and bore injury marks caused apparently by a sharp edged weapon. Dr. Harsha said the police were probing all leads, including the assault on a woman by the victim on March 31. The police were yet to receive the autopsy report, he said. Many people have been questioned this connection and no arrests have been made, he added.
