BANGALORE: In the light of the first death anniversary of Dr. Rajkumar on Thursday, the top police officials reviewed the law and order situation, and have decided to throw a security net around the Kanteerava Studio and other sensitive parts of the city to prevent any untoward incident. It is learnt that two companies of Rapid Action Force, 40 to 50 platoons of City Armed Reserve (CAR) and home guards besides the civil police would be deployed in the city to bolster the situation. Chaired by Police Commissioner N. Achuta Rao, the meeting held on Tuesday night was attended by senior police officials, including Additional Commissioner Bipin Gopalkrishna and Joint Commissioner Gopal B. Hosur besides all the Deputy Commissioners of Police. Sources said that the meeting discussed the programmes that would be held in connection with the death anniversary of the thespian and steps to be taken in sensitive areas. It also discussed on security situation following the decision of film technicians to take a rally from Gandhinagar to the Rajkumar memorial in Kanteerava Studio. The review meeting was held in the light of large-scale violence that was witnessed on April 12 and 13 last year following the death of Dr. Rajkumar. Eight persons, including a police constable, had been killed in the mob fury.
