Petrol bunk owner goes `missing'

HYDERABAD: Mystery shrouded the disappearance of a 50-year-old man Sarangi Ashok Kumar who went missing from Tuesday.

Kumar owns two petrol bunks in Nizamabad. Of late, he was making efforts to get one bunk shifted to Kushaiguda in city. On Tuesday, he left his house in Padmaraonagar for the petroleum corporation office in Secunderabad, but did not return home.

His worried relatives began searching for him. In the evening, they found his scooter parked on the petroleum corporation office premises. Based on his wife Laxmi's complaint, the Chilakalaguda police registered a case of man missing. Police tried to reach him on his mobile phone but it was found switched off.

On Wednesday, his mobile phone functioned for a brief period. Police are investigating if his business rivals kidnapped Kumar.
