Ahmedabad experts yet to arrive
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
When will the "revolutionary" Animal Birth Control (ABC) programme for stray dogs supposed to be taken up by Ahmedabad-based non-governmental organisation - Animal Help Foundation (AHF) launched?
No one in the MCH seems to have a clue. It was announced last month that ABC programme would start by April 7 but till date it has not. The AHF has offered to take up operations on more than 3,000 dogs within a three-month span in areas under Circle One.
"We are expecting the AHF team to arrive tomorrow morning, ," said Chief Veterinary Officer P. Venkateshwar Reddy. Even Dr. Reddy is not sure when the actual operations will start though he has admitted that the corporation will be providing its own dog squad vehicles.
The AHF team is to be paid close to Rs. 450 per dog.
