Scam accused sent to police custody

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: A local court here on Tuesday permitted the city police to take Sarasa Devi and N. Subrahmanyam, arrested in connection with the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) scam, into custody for seven days.

The police, however, did not take them into custody as they received an order from the Government transferring the case investigation to Crime Investigation Department (CID).

Meanwhile, the CID officials submitted to the court that they would formally file a petition on Wednesday and take the accused persons into their custody for further interrogation.
