CHENNAI: Customers of Reliance Communications can now watch Sun TV programmes online on their mobile handsets round the clock. The video streaming of Sun TV programmes will be available to Reliance mobile customers across the country at a uniform price. Since the video streaming is online 24 x 7, Reliance Mobile customers can watch their favourite Sun TV programmes from anywhere while on the move. This follows a tie-up between Reliance Communications and SUN Network Ltd. Mahesh Prasad, President (Applications, solutions and content group), Reliance Communications, said users of this service would be charged Rs. 15 for a five-minute session. Further, there would be network charges. Video clip download was also offered for customers, he added. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said his company was planning to bring audio of SUN TV programmes also on Reliance mobile handsets. Reliance Communications officials said it had over 30 million customers across the country. Around 60 per cent of its customers were R World (Reliance Mobile World)-enabled. The SUN TV programmes, a release said, would be hosted on R World. In Tamil Nadu, Reliance Communications had a customer base of 26 lakhs, they said. According to Mr. Prasad, around 10-15 per cent of the network data comprise mobile content.
