Durban: South African President Thabo Mbeki is on a two-day visit to Sudan where he will hold talks with his Sudanese counterpart Omar el-Bashir on several issues, including the ongoing conflict in the Darfur region of the north African country. Mr. Mbeki arrived in Khartoum on Wednesday with his Foreign Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and officials. ``President Mbeki's visit to Sudan takes place within the context of South Africa's priority to encourage the full implementation of the African Union (A.U.), United Nations agreement on the hybrid force for Darfur and the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) between the North and the South,'' said South Africa's Department of Foreign Affairs. It said issues for discussions are expected to include the situation in Darfur and implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement. PTI
