HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has made light of Union Water Resources Minister Saifuddin Soz's direction to Maharashtra to stop work at Babli and Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah's dharna.

"Sonia must intervene"

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, party leaders — N. Janardhan Reddy, K. Vidyadhar Rao and P. Yadgairi — said several such assurances from the Centre in the last two years had gone unfulfilled with the Maharashtra Government remaining adamant. That was why the party was insisting on AICC president Sonia Gandhi's intervention.
