MYSORE: The Vijayanagar police have arrested two persons on the charge of selling a site of Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) using fake documents. The arrested were T. Manju alias Manjunath, a resident of First Main, Second Cross, Lakshmipuram and M.V. Nagarathna, wife of Prabhakar residing at Srirampura. According to the police, the two allegedly sold a site measuring 50 x 80 (bearing number 1576) at Second Phase, 4th Stage at Vijayanagar here to T. Kumar for Rs. 30 lakh. They also took an advance of Rs. 20 lakh from him. But when Mr. Kumar and his friends went to the MUDA office to get the boundaries of the site marked, the officials verified the papers and told him that the documents were fake. Mr. Kumar then informed the matter to the real estate agent who got the site for him. He lodged a complaint against the two at the Vijayanagar police station. The duo were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
