Students display their `power of knowledge' in Sanskrit

BANGALORE: Max Muller High School, Basaveshwaranagar, celebrated Sanskrit Day recently.

An interschool competition, Manisha 2007, was organised and over 25 schools participated in it.

Shloka Anthakshari competition drew huge response from the students and they displayed their "power of knowledge" in "God's Language."

Fancy dress and quiz were also part of the competition.

Guest Sangamesh Upase distributed prizes to the winners. Children who had secured highest marks in Sanskrit were also given prizes.

Visit to Vidhana Soudha

A group of students from Bangalore Public School, Indiranagar, had a memorable experience when they visited Vidhana Soudha recently.

Before they embarked on the educative journey, during the school assembly vice-principal Vasumathi briefed the students about the dos and don'ts inside as well as outside the seat of power.

G. Gnanashekar, who had conducted mock parliament session for them at the school, received the students when they reached Vidhana Soudha. He briefed them on the edifice and told them that it covers an area of 60 acres. As they entered the second floor, the security officials briefed them on how to behave inside the assembly hall.

The students sat in the visitors' gallery for more than an hour and watched the proceedings.

The heated debate on management of hospitals interested them.

When they came out of the Vidhana Soudha, its splendour left them dumbstruck.

Annual day

Sri Rama Vidyalaya, Jakkur, celebrated its annual day recently. Suresh Moona, Director, Aarambh, was chief guest and he distributed prizes to meritorious students. Sophie Hofbaeur, Chief Executive Officer, Hybrid Strategies Corporation, was the guest of honour. Administrator of the school H. R. Satishchandra presided over the function.

For most of the children, it was an occasion to remember.

For some it was receiving prizes, for others it was stage appearance and for yet others it was both.

The cultural programme included various dance forms of the country and a play.
