Two sentenced to 3 years' RI in cheating case

HYDERABAD: A local court here sentenced two persons - N.V.S. Naidu and Kaparthy Kumar - to undergo three years' rigorous imprisonment in a cheating case.

The convicts were charged with duping Canara Bank's Patthargatti branch of Rs. 27.10 lakhs by securing loans with fake documents, a press release said.

While Naidu applied for loan in the capacity of the managing director of M/s Nageswra Chemicals, Kumar floated a fictitious firm in the name of M/s Summit Enterprises to secure the loan.

The CBI officials registered a case against both of them following a complaint lodged by bank officials.

CBI's appeal

The CBI's Anti-Corruption Bureau appealed to people to call them on telephone numbers 24732768 or 94411 13555 in case of any complaints about corruption in Central Government departments, Public Sector Undertakings, banks and insurance companies.
