Rupee recovers

MUMBAI: The rupee recovered its overnight losses and closed slightly higher at 42.84/85 on Thursday against the U.S. currency on account of sales of dollar by banks.

In a range bound trade at the interbank foreign exchange market, the Indian unit opened seven paise lower at 42.94/96 a dollar against Wednesday's close of 42.87/88 per dollar on some dollar buying by oil companies to meet their import requirements. — PTI
