`Unparalleled artiste'

BANGALORE: The Kannada cinema industry observed the first death anniversary of thespian Rajkumar at the premises of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce on Crescent Road here on Thursday.

Prominent personalities of the industry such as Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce president Tallam Najundashetty, vice-president V.H. Suresh, film artistes Vishnuvaradhan, Bharathi Vishnuvaradhan, Jayanthi, Dwarakeesh and B. Saroja Devi paid tributes to Rajkumar.

Recalling her professional association with Rajkumar, Ms. Saroja Devi said he was an unparalleled artiste in Kannada and a fine human being.

A team of singers comprising visually impaired youth rendered selected songs of Rajkumar films on the occasion.
