Mumbai: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has not made any derogatory remarks on Maharashtra in connection with the Babli, according to Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. "Dr. Reddy has not made any derogatory remarks about either Maharashtra or myself in connection with Babli project," Mr. Deshmukh told both Houses of the State Legislature while making a statement on the issue on Thursday. Dr. Reddy's reported remarks generated considerable heat in the Legislature on Wednesday with some MLAs seeking a censure motion against Dr. Reddy. "I have spoken to Dr. Reddy and he has denied making any such remarks," Mr. Deshmukh said. "On the contrary, Dr. Reddy said agitators from Andhra Pradesh who had demonstrated near Babli barrage should have sought permission from the Maharashtra authorities," Mr. Deshmukh said. PTI
