DCC meet calls for unity

Correspondent

Kakinada: Contrary to expectations, the district Congress crucial meeting here on Thursday concluded peacefully.

After the three-hour long discussion on the episode of party losing two seats despite having majority in the district planning committee elections, it resolved requesting the party's rank and file to sink differences and not to give scope for recurrence of such unfortunate developments in future.

In the wake of some leaders' open remarks during past few days blaming the party leadership for the debacle and gross indiscipline, the DCC unanimously passed a resolution expressing its confidence on the leadership of Thota Narasimham, DCC president.

Minister thanked

It also thanked Union Minister of State for Defence M.M. Pallamraju for getting East Godavari district included in the National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme.

Mr. Narasimham chaired the meeting while seven MLAs, including Thota Gopalakrishna, Anisetti Bullebbai Reddy, Tetali Ramareddy, Kudupudi Chitebbai, Pamula Rajesweri, Varupula Subbarao and Pilli Subhas Chandra Bose besides city mayor K Saroja attended.

All the three Ministers kept themselves away for obvious reasons.
