ALAPPUZHA: A 65-year-old farmer, Vasudevan, died at Punnapra near here on Wednesday, allegedly after consuming poison. Vasudevan was found lying unconscious on his farmland on Tuesday and was rushed to Alappuzha Medical College, where he breathed his last on Wednesday. Vasudevan was reportedly facing financial problems after he and a few other farmers took a farmland on lease for cultivation. However, this is yet to be confirmed.
