NALGONDA: The governing body meeting of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) was put off after Zilla Parishad chairperson Kasireddy Narayana Reddy made some scathing comments against the officials here on Thursday. The meeting, which was supposed to start at 2.30 p.m, began at about 4.30 p.m. much to the chagrin of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) representatives. Party MLC Cherupalli Sitaramulu and others, who reached the venue early had to wait for the arrival of Mr. Narayana Reddy, who is the chairman of the governing body. Collector K. Vijayanand was also made to wait, official sources said. At the outset, Mr. Sitaramulu took serious exception to the delay in conducting the meeting forcing the chairperson to express his regrets. As the MLAs and MLCs expressed doubts over the data given in the material supplied by the DRDA staff, Mr.Narayana Reddy in turn blamed the officials for the fiasco. He said that he had not approved the agenda. After making certain remarks against the officials concerned, the chairperson postponed the meeting by a fortnight.
