CHENNAI: The Department of Posts has launched a toll free telephone service to help customers identify the appropriate authority with whom to take up their specific complaints.

The number, 18004251235, can be accessed from any BSNL landline

without any cost.

Complaints can also be registered on the website indiapost.gov.in. Syndicate Bank

ATM opened

Syndicate Bank has opened an ATM facility at Egmore railway station. The ATM was launched on Thursday by Man Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Southern Railway.

Website on geriatric care launched

Senior Citizens Bureau has launched a website on geriatric care. The site, www.geriatricsdrvsn.com, will be formally inaugurated by Justice

A. S. Venkatachalamurthy, Chairman, Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission, at a function on Saturday. The website is an initiative of the Bureau chairman and geriatrician V. S. Natarajan.

Medical camp held

in Triplicane

Around 300 persons were screened for various diseases at a `Varummum Kappom' (preventive health) camp organised by the Chennai Corporation in Triplicane on Wednesday. Around 30,000 people have been screened in the city so far. The camps have helped to identify 937 patients with heart ailments, 502 patients with diabetes and 52 patients with cervical cancer.
