Teachers call off boycott of spot valuation

HYDERABAD: The Joint Action Committee of Teachers' Organisations has called off its ongoing boycott of spot valuation of SSC examination papers.

Their decision comes after Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy gave "specific" assurances on their demands. Dr. Reddy, who held a meeting with JACTO representatives on Thursday evening, assured them that in addition to deputing a special officer to deal with the unified service rules to New Delhi, he himself would raise the matter with the Central Government.
