MUSICAL FEAST: Dollu Kunitha will be part of the Fireflies Festival of Music to be held on Saturday.
Bangalore: Come Saturday and it will be an all night festival of music. Fireflies Festival of Music, which will be held at Fireflies Inter-cultural centre, off Kanakapura Road, will feature a wide range of musical genres Baul, qawali, Hindustani/Carnatic fusion, jazz, folk and sacred/mystical music. The theme this year is "Business and social/ecological responsibility." Some of the programmes include Oikyotaan from West Bengal and Bangladesh; Dollu Kunita and Kalbelia, the nomad dance from Rajasthan. Performances by Earth Born, a Carnatic jazz fusion group; Tarhana, tribal musicians from Amsterdam; Bernard Wacheux from Little France; Nemanja Rebic, a Serbian guitarist will be part of the festival. The concert will start from 6 p.m. on Saturday and go on till 7 a.m. on Sunday. Tickets priced at Rs. 200 are available at Alliance Francaise, Casa Picola (Koramangala) and at the venue.
