BANGALORE: Here is something to cheer about for the city's movie and music buffs. The Vintage Film-music Lovers' Association has come up with a show titled "Seventy-five years of musical journey in Indian Cinema a retrospect." The event will showcase the evolution and metamorphosis of Indian film music both in Kannada and Hindi. Catch the event live at Ravindra Kalakshetra on April 22. The event will have two sessions. In the first session starting at 10 a.m., watch out for Kannada and Hindi film hits of the bygone era. Presenting the session will be the city-based Ramya Cultural Academy. Also lined up for the day is a felicitation function. Rajan (of Rajan Nagendra fame), a veteran music director, and ace cinematographer of the black and white era V.K. Murthy will be honoured for their invaluable contribution to Indian cinema. On the agenda of the event is participation of actor-producer Shivaram, actor-director Ravee (K.S.L. Swamy); lyricist R.N. Jayagopal, music director Hamsalekha, director T.S. Nagabharana, Karnataka Patrika Academy chairman V.N. Subba Rao, Information, Tourism and Kannada and Culture Secretary, I.M.
