`Appoint Dalit as UAS VC'

BANGALORE: The Centre for Research and Development of Dalits has demanded that a candidate from the Schedule Castes or Schedule Tribes be appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bangalore.

Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, director of the centre Mumtaz Ali Khan said not a single Vice-Chancellor from these communities had headed the UAS so far.
