Explosives seized in Jharkhand

Dumka: The Jharkhand police on Saturday seized from a bus here 3,000 detonators, 400 gelatin sticks and 48 kg of wire.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team stopped the bus on its way from Deoghat to Rampurhaat in West Bengal's Birbhum district and seized the explosives from five passengers, DSP Charu Lakra told a press conference.

The five persons — three from Birbhum and two from Murshidabad district of West Bengal — were arrested. The police were investigating whether there was any naxalite link to the seizure as naxal posters were recently found in Dumka district. — PTI
