Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Siddapura police arrested an employee of a sweet shop in Jayanagar who enacted a robbery drama on Thursday night saying armed men robbed him of Rs. 42,000.

T.R. Ashok (23) had lodged a complaint with the police that three armed men attacked and robbed him of the cash while he was on his way to the shop owner's house in Byrasandra to hand over the money to him.

However, during interrogation Ashok confessed that as he was in need of money he enacted a drama. To convince others that he was attacked, Ashok hit himself on the head with a stone, the police said. The police have recovered the money from him.
