CHENNAI:
Increased civic awareness among residents has led to a situation where the job of elected representatives has become easy in terms of identifying the issues concerned, Mayor M. Subramanian said here on Sunday.
Inaugurating the Thiru Vi Ka Nagar-Gopalapuram Third Street Civic Exnora, by unveiling a plaque, he urged the residents to bring to the attention of the authorities their civic problems. Purasawalkam MLA V.S. Babu appealed to the Mayor to arrange for the issue of pattas for 520 housing board tenements in Thiru Vi Ka Nagar.
The ward councillor V.S.J. Srinivasan was present. Exnora International founder M.B. Nirmal said that one of the problems there was frequent power fluctuations. A Tamil Nadu Electricity Board official said efforts were underway to rectify it.
