Campaigning ends for third phase

Muslim voters hold the key in most of 57 seats at stake

LUCKNOW: With campaigning for the third phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections ending on Monday, the focus will be on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh and the Muslim voters when polling is held in 57 Assembly constituencies on April 18.

Mr. Singh is seeking re-election from the Gunnaur Assembly constituency in Budaun district. He won a by-election from this constituency in 2004 after resigning as Member of Parliament from Mainpuri.

The third phase polls will be held in eight districts of Bareilly and Moradabad divisions and two districts of Kanpur division.
