Coconut festival from May 3

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Coconut Development Board will organise a national coconut festival `Cocofest 2007' at the Soorykanthi Fair Ground here from May 3 to 6. At a press conference on Friday, board chairperson Minnie Mathew said the festival was aimed at creating awareness among investors of various technologies for processing coconut and its by-products. The fair is also meant to widen the market for coconut products by improving consumer awareness. Progressive farmers, processors, potential entrepreneurs, scientists, extension workers, policy makers, machinery manufacturers, technologists and resource persons would participate in the event, she said.
