Gopal Srinivasan meets Karunanidhi

Holds discussion with the Chief Minister on a 20-year vision

CHENNAI: Gopal Srinivasan, Chairman of the Tamil Nadu State Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry, on Monday met Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and obtained inputs for the Tamil Nadu CII's agenda for 2007-08.

During the meeting, at which past chairman of the CII Southern Region T. Kannan was present, Mr. Srinivasan had a discussion with Mr. Karunanidhi on a 20-year vision for Tamil Nadu in order that it becomes the "No. 1 State economically and socially."

Other issues discussed were the need for affirmative action through skills empowerment, building of inclusive cities through urban infrastructure renewal and promotion of Tamil culture.
