Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: The certificate distribution programme for candidates who passed out of the Institute of Livelihood Education and Development (a project of non-governmental organisation Aide et Action) was held here on Sunday.

Film personality Cheran was chief guest at the event.

iLEAD is Aide et Action's employability training programme focussing on unemployed youth from marginalised sections of society. It offers short-term training courses in specific demand oriented trades and provides the students placement support.

iLEAD is present in 37 centres across India with a total coverage of about 7,000 candidates.

In Tamil Nadu, the programme has so far trained 1,237 candidates and 1,085 have been successfully placed through the training centres at Chennai, Ooty and Palani.
