They stage dharna denouncing `inaction of officials'

HYDERABAD: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has come down heavily on the Intermediate Board for failing to rein in private corporate colleges running intensive coaching classes and bridge-courses, thereby "burdening students during summer holidays."

Members of the ABVP city unit staged a dharna in front of the Intermediate Board office here on Monday denouncing `inaction of officials'as a part of its campaign to bring pressure on corporate educational institutions not to tax students in the name of special classes during summer vacation.

Police arrested 40 protesters who also staged a rasta roko on the busy Ek Minar Masjid road.

Special drive

They activists demanded that Intermediate Board officials and the police launch a special drive against such corporate colleges and put an end to "students' misery."
