NEW DELHI: The Centre on Tuesday announced partial amendment in guidelines for publication of newspapers and periodicals with news and currents affairs of facsimile editions of foreign newspapers stating that the entity "shall be liable to intimate the names and details" of any foreigners/Non Resident Indians proposed to be employed/entity. As per the amended Clause 4 (iv) pertaining to basic conditions/obligations of the guidelines, "the entity shall be liable to intimate the name and details of any foreigners/NRIs proposed to be employed/engaged in the entity either as consultant (or any other capacity) for more than 60 days in a year, or, as regular employees. The entity shall be liable to dispense with the services of such persons if not found security cleared subsequently," an official release said. Earlier, the clause read as "all entities shall obtain prior clearance of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting" of any foreigners/NRIs proposed to be employed/engaged in the new entity either as consultants (or in any other capacity) for more than 60 days in a year, or, as regular employees, the release said.
