Repolling on April 25

Staff Reporter

GUNTUR: Re polling for the Guntur Local Authority Constituency of Legislative Council from two polling stations in Guntur Municipal Corporation and Narsaraopet Municipality will be taken up on April 25, Returning Officer G. Jayalakshmi has said.

The Election Commission of India decided not to count the votes of Guntur LAC following complaints from Telugu Desam Party that some voters had resorted to `open ballot casting' at both the places and Congress MLAs Tadisetty Venkata Rao and Sheik Subhani were present during the polling at GMC.

Polling at the GMC polling booth No.30 and Narsaraopet polling booth No.46 would be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 25.

The counting of votes would be taken up at A.C. College Recreation Hall on April 27 from 8 a.m., she added.
