Education fair concludes

SALEM: The three-day educational guidance exhibition `Edge 2007' concluded on Sunday.

Participating in the valedictory function, Deputy Commissioner of Police P. Sakthivel said that more foreign Information Technology and IT-enabled services companies were coming to the country to recruit bright talent.

Graduates

Graduates from the country were performing well in many fields. Stating that Tamil Nadu was producing a large number of engineers, he added that the educational standard in the State had improved a lot in the recent past.

Organisations from countries such as China and Japan were recruiting candidates from Tamil Nadu for teaching English language.

Mr. Sakthivel said that similar exhibitions should be organised to make students aware of various courses and institutions. Later, he presented best stall awards.

More than 75 educational institutions from Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Tiruchi, Dharmapuri, Vilupuram and Krishnagiri districts participated in the exhibition, organised jointly by Sri Rengaswamy Educational Trust (SRET), Rotary Club of Salem Central and Rotary Club of Komarapalayam.

Salem Government College of Engineering Principal A. Ebenezer Jeyakumar and SRET Honorary Chairman A.K. Natesan also spoke. Students and parents visited the exhibition.
