VBC, N. Shetty's take honours

Bangalore: VBC (Mandya) emerged the boys' champion in the State sub-junior basketball championship that concluded here on Tuesday. In its last semifinal league match, VBC defeated VNS (Bangalore) 52-38.

Final standings: Boys': 1. VBC (Mandya); 2. Mangalore BC; 3. VNS (Bangalore).

Girls': 1. N. Shetty's (Mangalore); 2. Bangalore Sporting; 3. Young Orions Sports Club.

The results: Semifinal league: Boys': VBC (Mandya) 52 (Sumanth 23) bt VNS (Bangalore) 38 (Prithvi 20); Mangalore BC 33 (Ritesh 12) bt K.S. Hegde (Mangalore) 18.

Girls': N. Shetty's (Mangalore) 34 bt Young Orions SC 14; Bangalore Sporting 26 (Pooja 12) bt Mounts Club 15.
