ANANTAPUR: The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has condemned the alleged police attack on CPI (M) legislator from Ibrahimpatnam Narasimham when the latter went to speak to the officials and the police during removal of hutments in Hayathnagar area on Monday. DYFI leaders Sunkanna and Nagaraju alleged here on Tuesday that the CPI (M) legislator was targeted as he was a Dalit. He was dragged into the police jeep and beaten up at the behest of landlords. They sought to know whether the legislator's attempt to stand for the poor was undemocratic. They alleged that the Government was discriminating Dalits and the poor by showering undue love on the affluent classes. They also flayed the Youth Congress leaders for their criticism of CPI (M) State secretary B.V. Raghavulu after he lead Dalits into a temple at Vemuru recently.
