KARIMNAGAR: Lauding the statements made by Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad that Telangana Statehood would be possible before 2009 elections, BJP State president Bandaru Dattatreya said, "it is evident that there is consensus among the UPA allies for the formation of Telangana State and it is time the Congress party discloses its stand on Telangana''. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he urged the UPA allies to persuade UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to reveal her view on Telangana. The BJP national party would also prevail upon the Centre to introduce Telangana Statehood bill in the Parliament. He said that the BJP was seeking appointment with President Abdul Kalaam to submit memorandum demanding formation of Telangana. The party had also decided to organise `Chalo Delhi and Rashtrapathi Bhavan' in the first or second week of May demanding separate Statehood.

On the formation of Greater Hyderabad, the BJP president said, "It is only a plan of Congress party to make Greater Hyderabad a Union Territory in the wake of formation of Telangana State. '' He reiterated that the BJP would not support the Telangana Statehood bill if Hyderabad is excluded from Telangana.

    Ryots arrests flayed

Condemning the arrest of farmers when they demanded SRSP waters to the tail-end region of the ayacut in Karimnagar district, he demanded that the Government withdraw all false cases against the farmers.
