Bank zonal manager

HYDERABAD: P.V. Raveendran has taken over as Zonal Manager, Central Bank of India, Hyderabad, in place of K.A. Somayajulu, who has been transferred to Chennai zone.

NGRI gets ISO nod

HYDERABAD: The NGRI has been awarded the ISO-9001:2000 certificate. The certificate is for basic and applied research, among others, for exploration of hydrocarbons, engineering geophysics, assessment and management of groundwater resources, etc.

HYDERABAD: The APCC has decided to extend free legal aid to Dalits fighting atrocities against them.

German firm's pact

HYDERABAD: Schott Solar GmbH, a Germany-based leading player in solar electricity business, has entered into an agreement with city-based Premier Solar, a module manufacturer.

Schott Solar will supply thin film raw plates from Jena in Germany to Premier Solar that will, in turn, convert them into several local customer products, according to Premier Solar MD C. Saluja. - Special Correspondent

Medicare expenses

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Teachers' Federation has appealed to the Government to double the medical expenses limit of retired employees to Rs.2 lakhs. K. Venugopal, president, and S.K. KADAPA: Mala Mahanadu functionaries staged a dharna on Kadapa tahsildar's office premises on Tuesday demanding abolition of Madanmohan Poonj Commission to study SC classification in view of the Supreme Court striking down the classification.

Mala Mahanadu district president G.V. Ramana asked the Government to take over assigned lands and allot three acres of cultivable land to each SC family.— Staff Reporter

Auto driver murdered

NANDYAL: An autorickshaw driver Kishore (20) was stabbed to death at Government Degree College Grounds in Nandyal on Monday night. Old enmity was said to be the cause of the ghastly act. The police are investigating.— Special Correspondent
