Tension in village

DINDIGUL: An unidentified gang destroyed sapota and banana trees in private farms at Chithayankottai near here on Tuesday. A mob had set a poultry farm in Chithayankottai afire on Monday night also.

Collector R. Vasuki visited the spot and held an inquiry with people at the village and Sedapatti.

She warned of action against those involved in the incidents.

The collector advised them to settle dispute between villagers of Sedapatti and Chithayankottai. The police deployed additional force at the village.

More than 15 persons were injured in a group clash involving residents of Sedapatti and Chithayankottai on Saturday.
