VIZIANAGARAM: Joint Collector M. Jagan Mohan has instructed Special Deputy Collectors to speed up land acquisition for Thotapalli, Peddagedda and Jhanjhavati projects and rehabilitate displaced families before the onset of monsoon.
Work in progress
At a review meeting with officials, he said 1,098.41 acres out of 1,102.25 acres for Peddagedda and 522 acres out of 970.38 acres for Jhanjhavati were acquired. Work on acquisition of remaining land was in progress. With regard to Thotapalli, 8,445.30 acres were to be acquired in the three divisions. So far, 3,060.25 acres out of 3,906.28 acres in the first division, 1,172.94 acres out of 1,746.66 acres and 1,274.81 acres out of 2,579.67 acres in the remaining two divisions were acquired.
Housing
He instructed housing officials to complete construction of houses by May. This is essential because the linking of right earth dam with spillway regulator, which was nearing completion, would affect oustees in nine villages.
