Vigilance raid nets 28.50 lakhs worth property

BHUBANESWAR: Vigilance sleuths unearthed movable and immovable assets worth Rs. 28.50 lakhs during raid on the residences of a state government official on Tuesday.

During the searches the vigilance officials seized two plots at Nuabazar, Cuttack and Samsundarpur, Bhubaneswar amounting to Rs. 21,16,610 and those were registered in name of Pradipta Kumar Jena, Welfare Extension Officer, Raghuathpur Block of Jagatsinghpur district, and members of his family.

Costly household articles, bank deposits and shares were also recovered from the house of Mr. Jena during the raids.

The raids were carried out following a search warrant issued by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate at Cuttack.
