THRISSUR: Two persons were killed in two separate motor accidents in the district on Tuesday. In the first incident, a teenager was killed and seven persons were injured when the van in which they were travelling rammed into a tree at Pokkulangara in the Vadanappilly police station limits on Tuesday morning. The deceased was identified as Ramshad, 16, son of Zachariah of Pippinissery Kallekkal at Aroli in Kannur. Vazhamuttin Mithun, 20, Akbar, 18, Sajith, 20, Sarath, 21, Najeeb, 21, and Shaiju, 22, all from Kannur, were admitted to a private hospital here. The condition of two of them is reported to be serious. The group was returning from a water theme park near Kochi. In another incident, a man was killed when the car in which he was travelling along with his wife and daughter collided with a lorry at Akkikkavu, near Kunnamkulam, on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Sabu, 48, of Kalapurathu House at A.R. Nagar in Malappuram. Sabu's wife Gracy, 43, and daughter Tabu, 12, were severely injured and were admitted to a private hospital here. The family was travelling from Muvattupuzha to Malappuram, the police said.
