Civic workers seek their due

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation Employees' Union has threatened to go on strike if the demand of regularisation of employees and payment of minimum wages is not met.

Workers in the Gajuwaka Municipality and 32 gram panchayats merged in the corporation should be recognised as corporation staff and paid a salary of Rs.3,850. Statutory benefits should also be provided, union leaders said here on Tuesday.
