Hyderabad
`Krishna project not shelved'
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
Even as the State Government gave the green signal for bringing Godavari water to Hyderabad, ahead of Krishna, Information Minister Mohd. Ali Shabbir on Tuesday said that the third phase of Krishna Drinking Water Supply project for the twin cities was indeed on.
"We have not shelved the Krishna third phase. We will bring Krishna and also Godavari to Hyderabad to meet the growing needs," he said, speaking to mediapersons during a visit to the catchment areas of Himayatsagar and Osmansagar reservoirs.
Krishna, he said, had become the mainstay of drinking water supply in the city and the second phase was awaiting inauguration, pending clearance of JNURM funds from the Centre.
