NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued fresh notices to Rahul Mahajan, son of the slain Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pramod Mahajan, and others on a prosecution petition seeking a direction to the trial court here to try them for allegedly providing money for sale and purchase of narcotic drugs. The prosecution said the notices issued earlier were not served on some of the respondents. Justice Ravindra Bhat directed respondents to file replies by May 24. Rahul Mahajan and five others are facing prosecution in a case of drug abuse at his father's official residence here in June 2006. The prosecution said that while framing charges against them, the trial court discharged Rahul Mahajan from the allegation of drug trafficking. This despite one of the witnesses, Karan Ahuja, saying Rahul Mahajan had asked Sahil Zaroo, another accused, to keep the balance of the money given to him to bring drugs for future use. This statement established its claim that Rahul Mahajan and Sahil Zaroo indulged in sale and purchase of drugs earlier also, the prosecution said.
