TTD to build 100 laddu counters

TIRUMALA: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Chairman B. Karunakar Reddy on Wednesday directed engineering officials to construct at least a hundred laddu issuing counters for the benefit of devotees. Mr. Reddy, who went on a marathon inspection in the areas encircling the hill temple, said that the construction of more number of laddu counters had become necessary to meet the requirements of the growing number of the pilgrims.

He directed the engineers to build the counters in the state-of-art technique enabling the sale of gold dollars as well as the mangalsutrams under the same roof.

He also instructed the officials to reconstruct the `Ugranam' building at a little distance from its existing place.
