Bangalore: Minister for Home and Law and Parliamentary Affairs M.P. Prakash, who is also State President of the Janata Dal (Secular), has decided to retire from active politics at the end of term of the 12th Legislative Assembly. He would not be contesting the next round of Assembly elections. Mr. Prakash told presspersons here on Wednesday, "I am 66 now. I am aged. I have decided to retire from poll politics. This decision should have come from me long ago. But at least I have firmed it up now." It was for his only son, Ravi, to get into active politics and contest from Hadagali in Bellary district which he had represented for long. He said, "Ranga Spandana" would soon be ready at Hadagali, his native village. On the threat of Minister for Tourism B. Sriramulu to resign from the Government, the Home Minister said it smacked of his political inexperience.
