2 held on charge of killing businessman

The accused are arrested while moving on the motorcycle of the deceased

KARIMNAGAR: The Karimnagar town police on Wednesday unfolded the mystery of a man missing case with the arrest of two persons and unearthing of his dead body from a septic tank from a rented house in Sripuram colony on the outskirts of Karimnagar town.

Karimnagar Town CI J. Amarender Reddy said that a businessman, P Surender, 38, was missing along with his motorcycle, cellular phone, and two ATM cards since January 5, 2007.

The mystery case unfolded on Wednesday when the police arrested the accused K. Sridhar, 27, and S. Geetha, 38, while they were moving in the motorcycle of the deceased.

During the interrogation, the accused have confessed to killing the deceased and dumping his body in a septic tank.

The accused took a rented house in Sripuram colony for running a brothel. The deceased, Surender, developed an illicit affair with Geetha and was a frequent visitor to her house. The deceased used to demand and harass both the accused for the supply of more women.

Unable to undergo his torture, the accused have decided to eliminate him and accordingly invited the deceased and offered liquor. When the deceased went to bathroom, the accused locked the door from outside and supplied LPG gas supply into it, out of suffocation Surender fainted and collapsed. Later, they dragged the body and dumped it into a septic tank and closed the lid. They vacated the room and migrated to Gajwel.

The police, with the help of cellular phone calls, could locate the accused and arrest them. The body was exhumed in the presence of revenue and forensic authorities and sent for post-mortem.
