Employees stage protest in Mangalore

MANGALORE: The State Government was not doing enough for farmers and labourers, B. Madhav, state president of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) said at a protest meeting here on Wednesday. CITU, Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha, BSNL Employees Union and the All India Insurance Employees Association staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office.

The demands included controlling the prices of essential commodities, strengthening the Public Distribution System, land reforms, providing minimum support price, providing free sites to the poor and others .
