A different crowd puller

The summer vacation has turned the Regional Science Centre and Planetarium, Kozhikode, into a hub of activity. The new facilities added at the Centre in February this year — `The hall of human endurance' has been attracting quite a crowd.

The Centre is planning to have a new gallery on the `science and technology heritage of India.' The gallery will be housed in a new block. The construction of the block, costing Rs.70 lakh, has already started and is expected to be over in 2008. "In another six months we are introducing mirror magic with the theme `fun with the use of mirrors.' It would cost Rs.6.5 lakh," says V.S. Ramachandran, project coordinator of the centre.
