KOCHI: Jack-up rig Trident II of Transocean Offshore Deepwater Drilling Inc., Houston, sailed off on Thursday after major repairs at the Cochin Shipyard. The repair work was completed on schedule on the three-leg cantilever jack up rig, which operates at 300 feet water depth and drilling depth up to 25,000 feet. The jack up rig arrived in Kochi in November last year. The scope of the repair work undertaken included 350 tonnes of steel renewal which consisted of a new three-tier accommodation block, removal and re-installation of shale shaker units, cropping and renewal of piping of 1,500 metres and renewal of electrical cables of different sizes amounting to a total length of 7,500 metres.
